I love Get Knit events. I’ve sung their praises before, but seriously, I love that they do all the work in putting together something fun and unique to do. On Friday, Nate and I attended their “Curling and Craft Beer” event. We’ve tried to go to this for the last couple of years that they’ve put it on, but it always sells out so fast.
It’s Friday! Time for another round of Seven Quick Takes with This Ain’t the Lyceum! This week I thought I’d feature a round of random facts about me to help you learn more about me – and just because it’s fun. (1) We have been living without a microwave for over a year. The door broke on our microwave and I really thought I wouldn’t
I just finished Love Warrior by Glennon Doyle Melton. I hadn’t read her first book, Carry On Warrior – I do plan to at some point. I will admit, Love Warrior wasn’t high on my list to read. I am only somewhat familiar with Glennon’s work through her Momastery site. And Love Warrior is her memoir, so I just wasn’t sure if I should read
Just off a three day weekend that was mostly pretty good. On Friday I was off a little bit early so I could get my hair done. I’m super excited with how it turned out this time. We went pretty bold and went for kind of a pinker red. It’s super fun. I know it’ll fade pretty quickly, but I’ll enjoy it while it lasts.
Linking up with 7 Quick Takes at This Ain’t the Lyceum again today. I love this way of ending the week (or maybe I love that it encourages random thought posts, I’ll never tell. My Funny Valentine (1) We’ve been hit with yet another cold bug at our house this week, I’m pretty sure it’s because it was a holiday, my poor kid has been
It’s been awhile since I’ve done a “What I Wore” post, so I thought today I’d feature a round up of some recent looks. A lot of legging styles here, partly because they fit me best right now but also because it’s been cold and wearing leggings under dresses is more comfortable than tights in my opinion! It is going to be getting kind of
My favorite character of all time, the fabulous Leslie Knope, dubbed today, February 13th, Galentine’s Day. In an early episode of Parks and Recreation, she explains that it’s a day to celebrate the important and special female ladies in your life. And I love that so much. And I hate that it’s Monday and I can’t be off doing something with my special ladies. So
I finished up two books this week, look at me go! I had to finish one of them for book club, the other I simply couldn’t put down. I’ll start with my book club book since we met last night to discuss it. Bonk: The Curious Coupling of Science and Sex by Mary Roach. It is a slightly delicate subject in a way, but it’s
“Mommy, you’re pretty!” Ollie said those words to me the other day. No prompting, I had just rousted him from bed and I was already dressed for the day. We have a morning ritual of cuddling while he wakes up a bit and while we were snuggled up he looked up at me and said those words. And they were words I really needed to
I’m really not into sports. It doesn’t help that MN teams have a tendency to break our hearts on a regular basis, but I’m also not a sporty person in general, so I’m just not really into most sports. BUT, I love the Super Bowl. Every year we get together with my in-laws and make all the most terrible for you snacks and appetizers that
