It’s getting to the time of year where it’s appropriate to start watching holiday movies. I resist a lot of Christmas related things until after Thanksgiving because I love Thanksgiving, but I feel that once November hits, holiday movies are fair game anytime. In fact, Jen and I just saw A Bad Moms Christmas over the weekend to celebrate our birthdays together (and we totally rocked some holiday leggings while doing so!) So, I’m definitely in the spirit now. Today’s Tuesday Topic theme is two favorite holiday movies. It’s hard to narrow it down to two, but I will share my two most favorite today.
(1) Home Alone – 80’s baby/90’s kid over here. No shame in this one. I honestly can’t explain why I love this movie so much. It’s so far fetched and over the top but it has so much heart and is just plain fun. I love the music they use and some of the lines are just the best “When I grow up and get married I’m living alone!” This is just a must watch for me each year.
(2) Elf – Honestly it was a bit tough to pick between this and The Santa Clause, but I think as time has gone on Elf just has my heart a little bit more. I can’t help loving Will Ferrell and he’s perfect as Buddy the Elf. The overall story is just so fun and I absolutely love the part about “The fastest way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear.” If you don’t believe that is true, go watch my kid’s Christmas program this year. They’ll put you in the holiday spirit!
As I said, The Santa Clause is a runner up along with White Christmas, The Holiday and The Muppet Christmas Carol. And a whole host of shorter Christmas specials too. I better pop some popcorn and get watching!
