Early this year I set a loose goal of doing a 5k every three months or so. I started the year with the Polar Dash, did the Color Run and my triathlon this summer and now this weekend I did what will probably be my final 5k of the year, the Hot Cider Hustle. And it might have been my favorite.
The weather was perfect, it was cool but not too cold. It was sunny. And the trees around Normandale Lake (where the event was held) were SO BEAUTIFUL. I just can’t even describe it, the color was so rich and vibrant. We got a hoodie, a mug of hot cider and a caramel apple at the finish.
My co-Unicorn mama came with me and we enjoyed a nice chat while we more or less walked the course, but we finished in a good amount of time and honestly the time went super fast because of the fact that we were talking. I have a few pictures of the day, this is definitely a race I would do again!
The gorgeous sunrise over Lake Normandale.
Selfie by the start line – showing off my pretty new red hair!
At the end with our mugs – that cider tasted amazing on a cool day!
This tree. I wanted to take it home and put it in my yard.
The rest of the weekend found Nate and I on a date night, brunch for his mom’s birthday and just some relaxing time around the house. Hope you all had a great weekend too!
