Happy Monday! I hope you all had a good weekend. We did, in spite of a little rain!
Saturday found us on a little date day adventure. We got tickets at the last minute to Crayfest at the Smack Shack in the North Loop of Minneapolis. It was an outdoor event, so we were a little nervous when it was super rainy on Saturday morning, but we dressed for the weather and thankfully got a table under a tent.
It was a lot of fun. The cost of admission got us all the crayfish (and sides) we could eat along with unlimited beer and/or hurricanes. We were plenty stuffed when we left, but it was delicious. I liked the Crayfish but my favorite was the corn on the cob, it was dripping with juices from all the other stuff that was cooked and it was to die for. And bonus, I think I have my Halloween costume for the year. These crab hats were only $10 and too much fun, so I had to have one! It was a fun day and a good warm up for the State Fair later this week, haha!
Sunday was a much nicer day outside. Nate brewed the final beer he needs to fill up his bar with all new beers for Oktoberfest. Ollie and I went on a little shopping trip and got him a backpack for preschool (which starts next week, insert sobs here) and then we came home and he tried on something special Nate picked up for him and helped me make some pancakes.
Have you ever seen a cuter chef? I don’t think I have! I know I’m biased because I’m his mom, but come on! He’s been asking for a chef’s hat, so Nate found this set on Amazon for a very reasonable price. Ollie clearly loves it. He didn’t even want to take it off when it was time to eat! Good thing it’s washable!
Overall it was a great weekend. The week ahead looks to be exciting, we have a Paw Patrol themed St. Paul Saints game, the State Fair and a visit from some of our St. Louis relatives to look forward to! Fun times to come!
