I dropped the ball on Throwback Thursday yesterday because I had forgotten my journal in a different bag. Whoops! Anyway, I’m bringing it back today as Flashback Friday. Today we’re starting the journey into my sophomore year of high school – this was a pretty significant year for me, so we’ll be spending quite a bit of time here! Let’s take a look at the start of the year today with a couple of posts.
August 25, 1997
Today was the first day of school. It had it’s ups and downs. Here is my schedule:
1st hour – Health, 2nd Hour – English, 3rd hour – Math, 4th hour – Band, 5th hour – Science, 6th hour – French, 7th hour Social Studies.
No classes with RD and only one with Mickey. Boo. And neither of them talked to me today. That sucks. But I’m happy I have two classes plus lunch with Sara. We also got our class ring information today. I really wish RD or Mickey would ask me out! Oh well. Gotta go. <3 Me

I tried out for the music tonight. I think I did pretty good. A lot of people were impressed. I sang Independence Day. RD sang Glory from Rent.. He was pretty good. I really like him. Maybe more than Mickey right now. Friday is a dance and Saturday is Sara’s birthday party. Both should be lots of fun. Well I better go. G-night! <3 Me

Tonight is Sara’s birthday party. It’s gonna be me, Sara, Cyndy, Amber, Samara and maybe the twins. I’m excited. I really need to write because I’m damn confused at the moment about men. There’s this guy in my French class who sits next to me named B. He’s really shy and kind of nice, but he’s not really in the crowd I hang out with. But I think he likes me. And maybe I kind of like him. But maybe not. I mean I like RD, but I don’t know. It’s a weekend. I’m not in the mood to be thinking! <3 Beth
Yes I started the year still kind of on the “Mickey” and “Rubber Ducky” train, but it won’t last long. This begins the saga of B. He didn’t have a nickname, so I’ll just call him B. And there’s so much more to come on this story, so stay tuned. And go check out Laura’s post from yesterday as well.
